Job Description

National full-service defense firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary/Paralegal to support the growing Insurance Defense group in Century City. This is a newly created position offering a collaborative environment in a stable and growing practice group with a supportive team and a firm culture built around balancing work and life.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Draft, format, and file pleadings, motions, appellate filings, and other legal documents in state and federal courts.
  • Manage all aspects of case administration, including calendaring deadlines, maintaining case files, and organizing pleadings, exhibits, and discovery materials.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery, privilege logs, interrogatories, fact gathering, legal research, and case assessments.
  • Coordinate with clients, trial teams, courts, and third parties while supporting case progression and settlement efforts.
  • Prepare exhibits, evidence, and supporting documentation for motions, hearings, and other litigation-related proceedings.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense
  • Experience with state and federal e-filing and calendaring deadlines
  • Strong drafting skills and experience assisting with discovery
  • Paralegal Certificate or Attestation strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

  • Hours: 37.5-hour week
  • Salary: $100k - $115k
  • Location: Century City (Los Angeles, CA)
